Hubert, North Carolina in Onslow County is a rapidly developing, unincorporated town with farms, quaint neighborhoods, and lots to do. A short drive to beaches, bases, and bustling city life, it offers peaceful, country living with modern comforts a stone's throw away. Close to Jacksonville, local beaches, and neighboring Swansboro, it is a convenient place to live. Whether you’re stationed on Camp Lejeune, work remotely, or are employed on the Crystal Coast, living in this sweet town is an option you may want to explore. The ever-growing Hubert is home to peaceful and convenient living, tons of fun, and the brand-new Jack's Branch community.

Jack’s Branch is a lovely new construction community of townhomes on Smallwood Road in Hubert. Each unit has two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and is just under 1200 square feet. The homes are brand new construction which will offer you a fresh clean palette to make it your own. There are two different floor plans to choose from and upgrades are available if you desire. The new community rests near Queen Creek, a lovely place to take in views of real and raw nature or to drop in a fishing line and reel in the evening’s dinner. The spacious kitchen in the Jack’s Branch homes would be a wonderful place to cook up your catch-of-the-day. Dine in the kitchen, the dining area, or forego cooking and take an adventure to find one of the many local places perfect for your palate.  

In nearby Swansboro there are restaurants like Bottle and Brew or Blazin Bird. Swansboro is also home to Olea Mediterranean Kitchen where you can treat yourself to tabouleh, Greek salad, or sweet and sticky Baklava. Jacksonville, also close by, is laden with places to eat all sorts of cuisines such as Mexican, American, Japanese, and more. If you stay in town, visit Monster’s Pizza, and eat in or take out stromboli, specialty pizzas, calzones, and more. Visit the Red Barn Restaurant for some delicious barbecue, fresh seafood, or sandwiches. Restaurants are not the only convenience Hubert has to offer, there are also stores like S & H Feed and Garden Supply, farm stands with fresh, local produce, stables, and tons of fun things to do.

The shady Hawkins Creek Campground hosts tent campers as well as big rigs and RVs, and offers pond fishing, horseshoes, kayaking, and canoeing. If you’re a boat lover, you’ll enjoy the largest local boat ramp around on Red Barn Road. The Green Acres Boarding Stables is the place to go to board your horse, and the Hubert By-Pass Park is the perfect place to picnic, play basketball, hike the trails, enjoy the playground, and more. Plan to visit the Jumping Run Creek Mud Bog for regular mud bogging events and contests, or the Flatwoods Outfitters Range and Shop. If you are looking for education about the local area’s wildlife, Possumwood Acres is the place to go. They offer field trips, wildlife encounters, and opportunities for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. They also host events and allow tours of the facilities to view their rescued animals from Hubert and other surrounding towns.  

Hubert, NC is a wonderful place to live. It has no city taxes and is close to cities and towns nearby. It also runs along the intracoastal waterway and is threaded by inlets and bodies of water with many opportunities for local recreation. Close to surrounding areas, Hubert has its own entrance to Camp Lejeune, is a short drive to beaches, and close to shopping at the mall, big box stores, and sweet, local boutiques. It is fifteen minutes to Jacksonville, one town away from Swansboro, and a mere twenty-five minutes to our beautiful local beaches. Visit Hubert and see for yourself all it has to offer, and why you will want to call it home.
